Are there luxury hotels in Malibu on the water, or is it all just private homes?

April 11, 2010

I’m trying to find an ultra plush, luxury hotel to stay at in Malibu with the great views of the ocean, but when I do a seach nothing seems to come up. Are there no luxury hotels in Malibu to stay at?

The Malibu Beach Inn is wonderful- I don’t know why the people above don’t like it… Each room has have private hot tubs on the room balconies overlooking the ocean…

Very romantic, very chic… Pricey, though, and hard to get a reservation.

Have fun!

Not too much on the beach there to choose from…Probably the best for you "on the water" is the Malibu Beach Inn (rates $308 to $540 minimum per day). It’s just south of the Malibu Pier, It is right on the beach, right off of PCH (Route 1) and it seems very Good but not a " Ultra Plush Luxury Hotel"…..Don’t think you will find that on the water…and Malibuians like it that way..<–Yeh I made that word up "MALIBUIANS", HOPE YOU LIKE IT…LOL
    Have fun…

There are very few hotels in Malibu and no ultra posh homes. Consider staying in Santa Monica at Loews or Shutters and driving to Malibu’s Zuma beach to hang out.
